BART to/from SFO
Has any one had experience with the recently completed BART connection to and from SFO? This seems a quick, easy, and affordable way to get into the city and back to SFO. In fact, my wife and I will in SF next week, and I plan to use BART to get downtown (Powell Street Station). Any reason not to?? From there, we need to get to Nob Hill Lambourne (on Pine, between Powell and Stockton). Any suggestions of how to complete this last leg of the journey would also be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

We used bart from SFO a few days after they opened it. It was great. We took the SFO "air train" to the bart station. We only had a short wait for the Bart train. We had 4 pieces of luggage and didn't have any problems.

billb-- The only public transportation that goes up Powell is the cable car and I would not recommend that with luggage of any kind. Getting off at Montgomery (which is the financial district) and grabbing a cab would be my suggestion. (Easier to get cab in financial district than Powell Street) Still less expensive than taking one from airport.

I want to thank those who have responded. All seem to have excellent ideas about how to get from a BART station to my Nob Hill destination. More input is welcome. Also, I would like to throw two additional things out for reaction. How about walking from Powell Street Station to Nob Hill Lambourge? I have certainly done this distance before, admittedly sans luggage. Also, what about using the doorman at a hotel near the station to grab a cab? If this seems doable, any suggestions on what hotel to use? Frankly, I like the walking option, in part because the cab ride will be so short. Again, thanks for the good ideas, and keep them coming.
