Banq Restaurant

As a follow up to the new Boston restaurant thread, Banq was reviewed in the Boston Globe today. My 22 year old daughter is their pastry chef. The review gave them 2 and a half stars, which is good for a Globe review. They also had good things to say about the creme brulee. Yaay, Suzie.

Well we would give MORE STARS !! in our review...

I am so glad you posted this - I was trying to find that other thread where we had discussed Boston restaurants - to tell you that we have walked over to Banq twice now for dinner and had excellent experiences both times and were surprised it did not get more stars

we love the decor - esp the pressed bamboo - went once with two and once a party of four, the latter time the place was packed on a Friday night by 6:30 - we got there early enough to have a drink first at the bar - everything was wonderful -

ESPECIALLY all the desserts that were shared !!

We loved the food - as with all new restaurants, they may have a few kinks to get rid of , but not many - everyone in our party loved everything from drinks to dessert to snazzy coffee after ..

They have a friend of ours who used to be at the Federalist involved too which is great (in our opinion!)
We have to go back to try even more things on the menu -

tell your daughter it was fabulous -

Thanks for your kind words escargot. She is now doing both Banq's desserts and DaVinci's summer dessert menu. We are very proud of her. Especially since she never exhibited any of this talent at home.

Do any of them exhibit their talent at home?
I think they all save it for when they leave - they suddenly become neat, orderly, organized, and exhibit all sorts of talents never before seen by mankind !

DaVinci is another on our list - hope to get there this month - that is wonderful for her ! Congrats -
Tell her your invisible friends on your travel page think her desserts are tres magnifique !
