Restaurant week in Boston

Has anyone dined at Taranta in the North End?

Hi Cigalechanta: Haven't eaten at Taranta yet, but just had lunch today at Avenue One at the Hyatt (the former Lafayette). It's a hidden gem - the food was absolutely delicious, esp. their clam chowder. I know this doesn't answer your question, but it will bring your post "ttt".

It's been at least a year since but I have eaten at Taranta twice and had a great experience both times. I have not been there for restaurant week though. We went for our wedding anniversary one year and liked it so much that we went back the next year. The food was delicious and our waiter was the same man both times and he was wonderful. He really helped make our dining experience fun and memorable. He offered suggestions which we followed and were bnot disappointed. Sorry,I cannot remember his name but I bet he is probably still there. We ate on the second level which seemed more intimate thanm the first level.

I love their Sicilian Steak wiht red sauce and I always enjoy places with exposed brick. With their prices it is a good choice for restaurant week.

I've eaten there, but it was a few years ago. The service and food were both fantastic.

I've read more recent reviews on chowhound and they seem to still be doing a good job of things.
