Baltimore Inner Harbor hotel w/kids

Can anyone give advice for a good hotel to stay at in the Inner Harbor with kids (4 & 8).

I'd love a suites hotel, but there don't seem to be any, except for "Brookshire Suites." I've not seen any info posted about this hotel, has anyone had experience with Brookshire?

There is also "Pier 5" and I haven't seen that mentioned here either.

I may try Marriott WaterFront but if anyone has a better suggestion for kids, please let me know! Thanks.

I would suggest staying in the Fells Point area rather than the Inner harbor proper. Try the Admiral Fell Inn. The Inner Harbor & Fort are easily accessible by water taxi which the kids will enjoy. The better restaurants 7 shops are located there as well.

I live in Baltimore and I disagree with the above poster. I would never stay at the Admiral Fell Inn with a 4 and 8 year old, especially not on a weekend. Fells Point is much more for drinking age folks than kids. The Marrriott Waterfront is a great choice because you can walk lots of places, to the Inner Harbor attractions as well as the other direction, to Little Italy (lots of restaurant choices) and beyond. They have an indoor pool wich is a big hit in the weather we've had lately. No other inner harbor hotels have pools. Otherwise. Pier 5 may be okay but I have only been in the lobby lately, and Brookshire Suites is iffy.

Just let me add my last stay there was w/2 children ages 8 & 10. They loved it. I'm not sure why anyone would want to stay in the madness of the Inner Harbor area. It is always excessively crowded & though there are a number of bars in Fells Point the location of the Inn removes you from the crowd & noise.

If you decide on Fells Point, be sure to stop by Bertha's and Eat Bertha's Mussels. They're grrrrrrrrrreat.

My kids are 5 & 7 and with that in mind, I would still prefer the new Marriott Waterfront which is NOT directly on the "excessively crowded" Inner Harbor nor in Fells Point, but conveniently situated near both and there is a water taxi stand very close by.

The Admiral Fell Inn is smaller, and has great food, but IMO it's a better choice for adults than a family. I am leaving this post now! Laura has gotten good info from both of us!

Thanks for the advice!

I'm familiar enough with both areas and know I want to stick with Inner Harbor this trip.

Marriott WF looks to be booked for my dates. I'm thinking about trying Priceline for 4* so maybe we can stay 3 nights for less than 2 would have cost.

We did Priceline last summer for Inner Harbor and did 3* and got Wyndham Inner Harbor for a really low price - our kids are a older than yours and we got 2 rooms - at check-in they asked us if we wanted adjoining rooms. Wyndham is a few blocks farther from Inner Harbor - not right across the street like some - but difference in price made a walk of a few blocks worth it. More of a business hotel than a kids hotel, but service and staff was all great.

We had similar problem looking for suite hotel at Inner Harbor - seems that most were at airport or less desirable area of city.

I would stay at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel - also part of the Marriott chain. It has an indoor pool and is right on the Harbor. The Brookshire Suites are actually very well located and nice but no pool - caters more to business I think.
