travelina, thanks for the info! Not sure I understand how the VIP line works, but it sounds quicker. What approach (highways/other) do you recommend to the park to minimize congestion and delays? For the morning events, what time do you recommend arriving? Thanks.

MileKing, check www.balloonfiesta.com for maps and park entrances. Coming from the South, you will exit at Tramway and go from there.

You'll want to arrive no later than 6:00 AM to be able to watch the balloons inflate. Grab a breakfast burrito and some coffee or hot chocolate from one of the many vendors and stroll around the field. Make sure your camera has a lot of film or a big memory card!

Mileking,

Coming from the north or south on I25 exit at Paseo Del Norte NOT Tramway. You will go WEST from the highway and at the first light (about 1/8 mile)there will be a sign (although this year there was none that said VIP) that says fiesta parking and "entrance". Go north on this road and follow the signs. They will have police directing traffic. It will take you to the paid parking attendands. This is a much underutilized entrance to the park. Its not advertised and makes for a quick and painless entrance..
