Back from two wks in Oahu

Just got back from two fantastic week's in Oahu. Will gladly answer any question's. Stayed at Outrigger Waikiki-beachfront room.
Great Hotel! Duke's Canoe Club inside Hotel was great. Best Breakfast Buffet. The Hula Pie is a must! Lot's of action at night.
Society Of Seven Show a must see. Atlantis Submarine not that great. Arizona Memorial and US Missouri was a great tour. Sunset Dinner Cruise was very nice. Diamond Head is a must see. It's a tough walk to the top but so worth it when you see the beautiful view.
Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay was a highlight of this Island. The Polynesian Cultural Center was great. So informative and everyone is so friendly. Waimea Valley is great for hiker's and one's who like nature. The North Shore is a nice drive and so pretty. Dole Plantation was fun. Finding your way through the maze was neat. For those who said Waikiki is to busy to enjoy-I am sorry but I disagree. We loved it. The whole experience. Everything was easy to get to. Of course they say tourism is lower in Sept. so that may have made it nicer. And the weather is great. Someone said it was very hot is Sept. well I strongly disagree. We found it comfortable. There is always a cool breeze blowing at all time's. Note: We are from Florida where the humidity is a killer but we found Hawaii very nice. We loved it so much that we will be going back. Next time we will Island hop but for our first time there, I feel we made the right decision to stay in Oahu because we saw so much.

Pam, I agree with what you said. We loved Oahu as well. And the night life in Waikiki was amazing. Duke's is great. Did ya get the Hula Pie? The Outrigger is the best of location and so nice to.

Hi
I read your message, glad you had a great time........I requested a brochure from the Outrigger Waikiki...It looks very nice, and I was wondering how were the accomodations, and service?? Was the beach location nice??? I may be taking a group of 30 adults to Hawaii next year, and it will be our first time....Any info you give will be appreciated.

Thanks

Oahu is wonderful! Ignore what everyone says about it - yes, it is busy, but that is what makes it fun. The key is to have a car and go around the island - lots to see - Kailua has the most beautiful beaches in the world! Spend late afternoons and evenings in Waikiki - enjoy the shopping and crazy nightlife. A great place to eat is the Top of Waikiki - revolving restaurant(1 complete turn each hour). Great for lunch, or to watch a beautiful sunset. I have been to Hawaii 12 times, (Maui, Big Island, Kauai and Oahu) and I think I enjoy Oahu the most! Oahu has it all!

I ALSO ENJOYED OAHU. STAYED AT THE KAHALA MANDARIN. EXCELLENT SITE AWAY THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE BUT CLOSE ENOUGH WHEN I NEDDED THE EXCITEMENT. SHOPPED IN THE MORNINGS AND SPENT THE AFTERNOONS AT "DUKES".FOUND IT LOOKING FOR A LAUNDROMAT. MY HUSBAND EVEN BROUGHT A NICE RING AT THE JEWLERY STORE OFF TO THE LEFT. WE CAUGHT THE TROLLEY OR BUS ALL OVER. EVEN TO THE FLEA MARKET. I'M VERY SHOCKED THAT ANYBODY COULD ENJOY THE FOOD AT THE "TOP OF WAIKIKI" OUT OF THE 18 DAYS I SPENT ON ALL THE ISLANDS THIS WAS THE WORST MEAL I HAD ON ANY ISLAND. THE SCENERY IS AWESOME. MAYBE THEY HAD A BAD DAY.I WISH I COULD BUY THAT PLACE AND FIX IT UP. IT HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL. IT REMINDED ME OF A LOCAL BAD DINER EXCEPT FOR THE VIEW. ANYWAY WE ALL HAVE DIFFRERNET OPINIONS. I JUST PUT A MESSAGE ON ANOTHER POST TELLING ELSE SOMEONE NOT TO GO THERE. THEN I CLICK HERE AND SOMEONE IS TELLING SOMEONE TO GO. SORRY! MAYBE THEY GOT A NEW CHEF SINCE WE LEFT IN AUGUST. HAVE FUN!!!
