Austin in January

Thinking of a few days in Austin in January and maybe a day and a local spa. How many days do you suggest I go? Should I head over to San Antonio too?
thanks for you help.

Well, it really depends on how much you want to immerse yourself in Austin’s culture but 3 or 4 days should be plenty if you are content with just staying within the city. Add a day or two if you want to explore surrounding areas.

San Antonio is about a 2 hour drive from Austin and is worth a visit if you have time.

Three days in each city would make for a nice trip.

We spent a month in Austin a few years back and I think 3-4 days would give you a good taste of the area at least. I wanted to mention that we drove over to San Antonio during that time and it happened to be the one week that they shut down the river walk for cleaning! So you might want to check up on that since it seems to happen in the winter. We also hit some of the "barbecue trail" on the route between Austin and San Antonio which is great if you are a BBQ fan.
