Hi Eza!
I'm sure your brother will suggest going to Decatur, Buckhead (loads of bars and clubs) in the evening...during the day--if you like to shop (sorry the A$ isn't doing well..)Lenox Mall is a good one....day trips--go to the N. Georgia mountains and do some hiking....

Tell me more about your interests and I'll try to steer you in the right direction.

Debbie

Thanks Debbie! well i want to see as much of the east coast as i can, i am not too sure about going places in the states by myself, no offence to your country i am just co-dependant! but shopping places and touristy stuff would be good, but i hate art museums and boring stuff like that i am a more hands on person. How long do you reckon it would take to drive to orlando cause i think disney would be pretty groovy?!

Driving to disney will take you 8 hours if you are quick...

And would be worth it! Make sure you go with the idea that you are there to have fun.

See Epcot and World disney World.

If you have the cash, goto discovery cove for a day and swim with dolphins, sting rays and other tropical fish...

Goto medieval times in Orlando too, it is a dinner experiential show.

In Atlanta, experience
Virginia highlands (shopping and bars)
The usual shopping stuff (Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza)

Fados Irish Pub is fun and friendly.

For a laugh visit Outback Steakhouse (the irony will make you laugh or cry)

Goto the Italian Restaurant in Inman Park (N.Highland, south... of 20 slightly) Il Il....

Dantes Down the Hatch in Buckhead go for the jazz and a drink and sit on the ship... across from Swissotel/Lenox Mall.

Tourist stuff.
CNN Center
The World of Coca-Cola

Weekend Driving distance
Savannah (6 hours)
and Tybee Island

Hey Eza, here are a few other things to do on the East Coast:

Savannah, GA (pre-civil war town that was NOT burned during the war) - Great architecture, great bars. 4 hour drive from Atlanta.

New Orleans, LA - All around good time town. If you hate boring stuff, then you'll LOVE New Orleans. Check out the French Quarter, eat some cajun food, get pissdrunk on hurricanes (local drink), get a voodoo doll. 7-8 hour drive from Atlanta. I LOVE this town.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend Disneyworld, but that's just the kinda guy I am. If I was going to another country, I wouldn't want to spend the absurd $ it costs to go there, and it's just...too long of a drive, in my opinion.

While you're in Atlanta, you should check out:
Decatur (several bars, good acoustic music at Eddie's Attic).

Little Five Points (Cool neighborhood, very Euro feeling, Several good Bars/Restaurants, Good live music at the Star Bar, or Variety Playhouse). Go eat mediterranean food at Olive Bistro. Yum. Or grab the Best Hamburger in Atlanta at the Vortex. Double Yum. Good shopping at odd stores like Junkman's Daughter, Abbadabba's, Criminal Records OR Wax & Facts records, several other stores. Definitely check this place out.

Virginia Highlands - I can't wholeheartedly endorse the nightlife in this neighborhood, but there are a lot of bars & restaurants, and it's always crowded, so people like it for some reason. Also, there are a lot of small botique shops, making for a good daytime stroll.

East Atlanta Village - Like a smaller version of Little Five Points. Several good bars (Gravity Pub & The Earl are my favorites). Good food at Heaping Bowl, Vegan, Burrito Art, I Love Thai Cafe, Iris...this is my 'hood, so I'm a little biased towards it.

Buckhead is the most popular "neighborhood" that people visit when they come to Atlanta, and you might like it. However, it is very much a zoo on most nights. Insane traffic, bars tend to not have much character...I don't know...just never been too crazy about it. Someone mentioned going to Fado (an Irish pub) - That's a pretty neat little bar, but other than that, Buckhead stinks.

Just my two cents worth. If you want any more specific info, just ask away.
