Atlantic City - any suggestions?

Hi everyone!

Planning a quick weekend getaway at the end of May with some friends. We're planning to go by Atlantic City for a few hours on the first night, then drive to Philly for a day of shopping.

We're like to go shopping, eating out, sight seeing (beach), & we'll probably hit the casinos as well. We're not so much into the club scene or bars.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what do to for like 6hrs in AC??? Thanks in advance!

Head over to the Harrahs for lunch at the Reflections Cafe. It has a great view of the marina. Then I would walk the boardwalk and check out some of the casinos along the way. If you're looking for a good buffet, I highly recommend the French Quarter Buffet at the Showboat which is on the boardwalk.

If I had 6 hours in AC I'd cash them in for 6 hours someplace else, like Philly. One of the dirtiest, most depressing, one dimensional towns I've ever visited.
Some people love it, however.
Hope you have fun.

Beware that hotel rates in AC on the weekends are out of this world - they are WAY overpriced and not worth the money they want. I'm talking about $150-$200/nt !!!!! Even a dumpy 2* Holiday Inn is over $100/nt on the weekends!
