Are you serious? I've had it since childhood but some get it later on. Basically, you can't breathe. Try breathing thru a straw & you'll know what it feels like.

I'm in my mid forties and I've had it since I was in my early 20's. Your lungs feel like there's a vice grip around them and you labor for every breath..

If you're having trouble breathing - for any reason - you should get to an MD immediately. If you can;t get to your MD go to an ER. Trouble breathing can be the result of one of many different diseases - several very serious.

Many asthma patients are children and some are able to "grow" out of it. However, adults can also develop asthma even if they never experienced it as a child.

I have it and my son has and my daughter has it. I never even know when I have it. I end up in the dr. for sinus stuff and he says that I am wheezing and need to use my inhaler.

My daughter feels like she cannot breath - like something is crushing in on her chest.

Yes- the only problem is that that is also a sign of a heart attack.

Very unlikely in a young woman - but possible. Much more possible in men and women not so young.

I'm in my late 30's and my allergist just diagnosed me with asthma this year. There are different kinds of asthma - I'm pretty sure mine is just induced by exercise. Go to a doctor and have a lung capacity test done if you think you have it. Good luck.

Had it for years and thankfully found Advair. Mine is triggered by cold, dry weather, some dogs and exercise but Advair does a great job of keeping it under control. I had had bronchitis off and on for years and believe it just evolved into asthma. Simply put, it feels like you can't get air into your lungs.
