Asheville, North Carolina
Hello,
My wife and I will be going to Asheville, North Carolina next week for one night. It is a business trip to deliver art to a local gallery. Any restaurant recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

While Flying Frog is good its' menu is almost too eclectic combining French, Cajun and German dishes and DEFINITELY spicy, same with Salsas. If you want downtown and not spicy I'd say:
dinner - Left Bank on Patton for higher end. For more casual I'd say Tupelo Honey or Barley's (pizza)if you like vegetarian - Laughing Seed. For breakfast or lunch I'd say City Bakery on Biltmore or Tupelo Honey for Laughing Seed. Sushi - Wasabi. Lot of people like Early Girl Eatery but I'm not a big fan. Right now my 2 favorites for dinner are not in downtown - 28806 in West Asheville and FIG in Biltmore Village with the former winning out in terms of price and being less pretentious. A little drive outside of town Savoy is expensive and busy - Merrimon ave. Further up Merrimon - about 7 mi from downtown is Stony Knob which is excellent - You would do well to make reservatios if you are going out on a Friday or Sat nite - especially at Stony Knob, Savoy or Fig.
