Asheville NC

We are looking for a place to stay in Asheville during a trip down the Blueridge Parkway in a couple of weeks. We intend on seeing Biltmore while there and would like to find someplace convenient to there as well as some good restaurants and some shopping? any suggestions? we have been looking at the Doubletree, which pretty much fits the bill, and the Holiday Inn-Biltmore East, which seems convenient to the Blueridge Parkway, but not much else. Any opinions on either of these, or perhaps a better choice?

It has been awhile, so I am sketchy on the location but the Grove Park Inn is an amazing experience. It is expensive. I have only stayed in the hotel once, but it was worth it. They have a killer Sunday buffet that is open to the public and is a must!

Is the Holiday Biltmore-East the one on Tunnel Road? If so, I stayed there a few years back, and it was very nice. Be sure to ask for a scenic view, the backside has a parking lot view, but the front of the building has a very pretty mountain view. It is very convenient to the BR pkwy, and they have a restaurant with a nice breakfast.
