Yes...frequently!
I never fly Delta, so I can't compare the two, but I really love Independence Air. The service is excellent...I had one very delayed flight (hurricane) and the employees were super friendly and kept us happy with sodas and cookies (at the gate). On another occasion, I left my pager on the plane and got it back (no charge) via FedEx the next day.
You can't do better for cheaper.

i'm hopefully flying them at the end of september--bought my tickets months ago. they have announced that they will most likely file for chapter 11 and possibly liquidate.

Just flew with them this weekend. Newark to Savannah and back for a long weekend. I highly recommend them. No line to check in and breezed by security. I believe all their planes only carry 50 passengers and they have valet luggage check in (not really needed unless your in a hurry). You do get a complementary drink (non alcoholic) and a snack (sunchips, cookies and something else that I can't remember).
I'm not sure how they compare to Delta because I usually fly United. I got such a good deal with Independence, that I couldn't resist.
If you do decide to fly with them, be sure to listen to the flight instructions. You won't be sorry

We were sorry to hear that they may liquidate/stop flying since they are our new favorite airline in our several-times/year trips Boston-Savannah.
I think all of us older travelers are just beginning to adjust to the fact that the old name-familiar carriers are all in trouble and the newer airlines are what we will be flying in the future.

I love Independence Air. We've only flown them once, but were so impressed. The planes were incredibly clean and comfortable. Our return flight was delayed 4 hours and the employees couldn't have been more helpful. They brought out water and snacks for all the waiting passengers and were so pleasant and polite.

They do have a few larger Airbuses for their longer and heavier routes. But they have also asked for delayed delivery of further planes and have Airbus refund some of their deposit to keep itself flying.
The majority of its fleet is the 50-seat CRJ.
