We got a good price for first class SFO to Washington, D.C. on United via Orbitz.

Regarding that three seat deal. I have "acquaintances" who are quite obese. When they get tickets, they always buy three so they can put the arm rests up and use three seats for the two of them (aren't you glad you arent' in a seat between them?) Recently they were furious with Delta because they did that same thing. But once they were on the plane, an attendant came along and sat someone between them. When they showed that they had a ticket for that seat, it made no difference. An argument began and the attendant finally said, "this flight is overbooked, we're bumping that seat's ticket in order to accomadate another passenger." The bottom line was, they could then claim a later flight for that non existant "bumped" passenger -- but of course that meant nothing to them. In other words. They paid for three seats and got two!!

AAFrequentFlyer, that is very interesting about the YUP fares.

These fares are not always cheaper than F fares and not always available, but on routes where there is heavy competion with couple of major and at least 1 LCC airlines you could usually find a nice full fare economy that will put you in F for less money than buying an F ticket.

These fares usually have some restrictions whereas the F fare does not, so read the rules before buying.

Not that I have found a discounted ticket, but I will save $250 per ticket if we fly out of OKC. It's actually a closer airport, but never checked it thinking DFW would have better fares. It never hurts to check!!
I want to thank you all for your many suggestions. Fodor's forum is always the 1st place I begin my research.
