Boston:

Sucks. Hit 40 this weekend, but of course I was in a conference all weekend. Rain tonight, a storm bringing all snow on Friday. This is by far the worst place in the country with respect to the weather.

Here in New Hampshire, it's been an unusually snowy, cold late winter. We still have a good 24" of snow on the ground, with more predicted this week. Supposed to be around zero farenheit by Wednesday! Unfortunately, it's hurting the maple sugaring, normally by now the sap is running - not this year!

Spring clothes in the department stores in Virginia! LOL! It is warm today...just a tease I think. The weather has been very depressing, cold and rainy. No real fun snow this year. Just damp and raw...Looking forward to spring!

Sure signs of Spring in Boston -

1.All the piles of snow are looking filthy.
2. Frost heaves are the only thing pushing up from the ground.
3. Potholes are blossoming everywhere.
4. The view outside my office window still looks like a black and white photograph.

In Reno... most of the snow is finally gone except for the filthy "icebergs" melting in parking lots where they had to plow it into a big pile. Up in the high 60's this week and the crocuses are already blooming. Weeks like this are usually a "teaser" and it's likely that we will get other storms before we finally get a real spring but usually this time of year the snow stays in the mountains. I've had all the snow I want to see for awhile.

Since you asked . . .

the only change (in Honolulu) I can tell is that this morning it was closer to 72 degrees when I woke up instead of 65 degrees like it's been the past few weeks.

Cigalechanta - Oh joy! I guess the best we can hope for is the new snow will cover up the dirty stuff.

Our weatherman keeps promising that Spring is right around the corner. This week it's supposed to be in the 70's - maybe even the high 70's. So, we'll see - maybe Las Vegas will shake this winter we've been having after all! But I'm in no hurry to get to triple digits - Spring could hang around for quite a while and I'd be happy.

Spent the last couple of days in the backyard on a lounge chair listening to the Giants Spring Training games and reading a book. Low to mid 70's.

Yes, here in the southern end of the Sacramento Valley it is about 75 degrees. We have had three straight days of blue sky and sunshine.

The trees in the garden are all in bloom, and flowers are looking happy and pleased!

It is wonderful.

I wish all of you in colder areas lots of sunshine real soon.

Kansas City:

Teenagers whipping around our 25mph neighborhood with their stereos blasting.

Sigh.

Any sign of spring in your hometown?

Nope, nada, nuthin', zeeero, zilch, fat chance, never, NOT!!! What is spring? Is it nice? What does it look like? What are flowers?

I want outta here so bad. Somebody help me. Please. I'll pay you. No, wait a minute, if I had money to pay you, I'd have money to take a vacation. That's not gonna work.
I hate winter.

(Full disclosure: In all honesty, this has been the mildest winter we've had in years. I think Boston has become the snow capital of the U.S. I take it upon myself to represent the good people of Buffalo in passing the torch to the good people of Boston. I wish you well).
