Any interesting stops Chicago to Milwaukee/Indy area?

(I also posted this on the "Wisconsin" boards, but I think it's more general)

I'm driving from Chicago to Milwaukee and from Chicago to Lake Geneva, and I'd love to find out if there are any kitschy, fun sights or stops along the way.

ALSO--I have a drive from Chicago to Columbus, Indiana (a very cool town architecturally) and I'm looking for the same thing--kitcshy sights/stops along the drive.

Thank you!!

If you're looking for cool architecture, there's the Baha'i Temple in Wilmette, just north of Northwestern Univ and the Johnson Wax Building in Racine.

hmm - Chicago to Milwaukee? maybe O'Hare airport. To Indianapolis? That's going East then South so you'll have lots of Indiana farmlands once you get out of the Chicago suburbs.

Here's a link to a recent thread about driving from Chicago to Indianapolis. Not a lot out there really.

Coming to visit Columbus, eh? The architecture is interesting. Right now I'm sitting in the basement of a Weese. Not exactly the building's best side.

To see the interiors of some of the buildings you'll need to sign up for the official tour.

Thanks, everyone, for your help so far. Keep the ideas coming if you've got them!

Yes, I'm definitely signing up for the Columbus tour!
