Any heard of the Moore Hotel, the Camlin, in Seattle?

I got unreasonably cheap rates at these places, are they tolerable? I am not looking for luxury..just a clean place to sleep.

Never heard of them. Where'd you find them and the cheap rates?

I've stayed at the Camlin -- clean and basic. Pretty big room, bathroom not renovated; basically fine. Not in the center of downtown, but close to a couple of theatres.

I heard of the Moore in a frommers travel book, it says no frills but cheap. The Camlin was also in a book I think the idiot's guide to Seattle.

The Moore is in a more central area for nightlife but the hotel looks dreary, I have never stayed there though.

The Camlin is a couple blocks walk to busier areas but has a better reputation. they also have a great bar/restaurant at the top called the Cloud Room. I have friends who have stayed here who really like it.

The Camlin is now an up-scale "resort": https://www.worldmarktheclub.com/resorts/st/

HTTY

For cheap, include La Quinta in your search--there is one on the fringes of downtown.

http://www.moorehotel.com/

I just went to their website. Maybe they changed it because of your complaint, but it VERY clearly says "The Moore Hotel does NOT provide free parking".

HTTY, this is an 8 year old thread topped so a guy could complain about not being treated well when he called the guy at the hotel "assy"

He's topped 4+ posts now about the Moore.

When I saw the first one, I went to the website and it clearly says they do NOT offer FREE parking. Very clearly. In red letters in fact.

I looked all over the website too, suze (including the reservations screens) and I didn't see anything that indicated free parking.

Rukusmay, there's a way to complain that has a good chance of getting what you want, and that's to be polite but firm. The way to ensure you don't get anything is to call the other party a name. Even if they richly deserve it, it's not going help you get what you want.
