I recently purchased an antique dresser which is missing some of the drawer pulls. I want to replace all the hardware. Unfortunately, the hardware is not standard size and I need to find two diffent sizes of the same style. I realize this is an odd question for this board but I wondered if there is anyone out there, particularly those interested in antiquing, who might have come across a place or two in their travels that might be a good source for non-standard sized hardware.

I know you say non-standard, but have you checked www.myknobs.com?

you could try houseofantiquehardware.com, (they have a good customer service dept that might help you if they don't have what you want) or hardwarehut.com or vandykes.com- I don't know the style, but I once ended up having a local blacksmith make what I needed.
You could always try the antique roadshows (the pbs show) web page also to see if they offer any suggestions for a particular style.

Oddly enough, we had to deal with this exact situation this past weekend (antique piece, seemingly one-of-a-kind, needing drawer pulls)-- and our furniture restorer recommended this place in Orange, CA:

It's in Old Towne Orange-- one of the last enclaves of un-Irvine-ized Orange County. If you are anywhere in the area, it's a fun place to spend a few hours (lots of antique and consignment stores) and grab lunch. And for the record-- they have great gobs of antique furniture hardware to choose from.

Funny- I was going to recommend a great place in Orange, but couldn't remember the name. Voila! It's muffshardware from the post above! They have everything- antique, reproductions and new!! We spent several hours just looking at little hangers for skeleton keys and colored doorknobs!
The nice thing with the store is that they have most of their stuff hanging up in shallow display cabinets. So many places make you dig in boxes.

And yes, the entire area is a fun place to wander.
