Oh no, Lee Ann! So sorry to hear that. At least GB surgery is not too bad, if it's laparoscopic. I had it many years ago - the preceding attack made labor and childbirth seem like a ride on a carousel - but I was home and up and walking a quarter mile the day after the actual surgery. I hope you get to make your NYC trip soon!

scdreamer, we figure we'll be back in New York at some time in the future. At least we finished the important part of the trip before the pain started.
One of Mr. Pickle's bosses told us his daughter had a gall bladder attack while she was in labor. Yikes!

Hope all is well and you will make that trip soon; here is my take on Gotham West Market, which I think is a great option for those lodging in the area or bound for the theatre (or the car dealerships nearby!)
There may well have been some changes inside the market since my last visit but Ivan Ramen is still there, and worth a visit, as is El Colmado, sibling of Tertulia in the West Village.
