Anniversary restaurant in Maui?

We are looking for a top restaurant in Maui to celebrate an anniversary.
Spago, Nicks, Mama's Fish House - they get ok reviews here on Fodors but lousy ones elsewhere, which is all too confusing. We are into both food and ambiance and do not mind paying for both.
Suggestions please?
Thanks

I have been to Mama's several times over the years and have enjoyed it. Like any well known restaurant the staff can change from time to time, but overall the location and polynesian/hawaiian atmosphere feels welcoming each time.

Here's the Fodor's review link.

I have been to many restaurants on Maui. In my experience, the two most romantic, with great ocean views and fabulous food were: Mama's Fish House and Pacific'O.
But also, one I haven't been to, but have looked at, that looks equally awesome is Humuhuma at the Grand Wailea Hotel in Wailea. It would be hard to match the ambience, food, and romance of any of these three.
The most romantic oceanside luau with gourmet food and beautiful music and island dance entertainment is the Feast at LeLe.

NO, Chez Paul has no view. But in the dark, there isn't all that much to see if you were on the ocean etc.

We had plenty of views all day long for the 2 weeks were in Hawaii. We were willing to forego views at some dinners to have first class food.

We also had dinner at Alan Wong's in Honolulu and there was little in the way of view, but the food was excellent. The plates were the views.

How about Pacific'o in Lahaini. On the water. Outside. Great food. What could be better?

To piggyback on the Pacific'O raves, next door, same setting, same owners, is I'O. Wonderful indoor and outdoor garden setting on the beach, but more seafood oriented than Pacific'O. Some of the best dinners we have ever had. See www.iomaui.com

We had our daughter's wedding reception at Pacific 'O and you could not find a more romantic place with better food and service anywhere. The restaurant graciously accomodated our large group of around fifty people beautifully in their wonderful beachside setting. The food was marvelous, delicious and beautifully presented. We have been back since then and have not been disappointed. We have also been to I'O next door and found it to be very good also. I would highly recommend either place.

Haven't eaten at Pacific O's.....but love Mama's. The scenery is amazing, very romantic. If you go there, be sure to call early and reserve a table with a view.
