Americans who've been to London...

..please help!
I know that some Americans use small bottles of anti-bacterial liquid soap, the kind you don't have to wash off, to help keep clean on holiday. I would like to find some in London, where I live, but I can't track any down. If anyone has bought some of the stuff in London, please reply. Thanks.

Look for the brand, Purell. You might be able to find it at Boots or at least something comparable. And, you might post this question on the European board.

I have never been to London (although I really really want to) but if you have a Bath and Body Works, they have anti bacterial gel. You can get it there.

Maybe The Body Shop has some, but I doubt it. Yeah I'd also say look in Boots.

Although, that stuff kills all the good bacteria as well. Why not just use some good old fashioned soap and water?

The stuff is handy when soap & water aren't available, which often happens to tourists who, say, buy a sandwich from a vendor or have aq picnic in the park.

I go to London every year and honestly have not paid any attention to whether stores sell this product or not. I would try Boot tho, one of their larger stores first tho. You might find it in one of the larger Sainsbury's or Waitrose or Tesco stores as well. I'd take a look on the soap aisle if I were you. I'm not sure you'd find it in a small branch of these stores, but you might in one of the supermarket type stores.

I saw a report on NBC Dateline that suggested that these anti-bacterial hand rub liquids eliminate very few bacteria. Stick to soap and water.

Again Jor, the purpose of these products is when there is no soap or water available. A little something is better than nothing.
