American Girl "show" Chicago
While on the Amcn Girl website I noticed that they have a show now in addition to the brunch/lunch options. Has anyone taken their daughters/nieces/grand-daughters to this show, and if so, is it worth the $$$$?

I took my daughter 2 1/2 yrs ago. We got the package for the whole day, included lunch, photo shoot where you get her picture on the front of a replica of the AG magazine, and admission to the show, and the CD from the show, and a photo album.memory book for the trip. The show was very good and my daughter loved it. The charaters were all preteen/early teen girls playing the AG characters. The show has probably changed by now, but the one we saw was very well done and the music was very good and memorable.

I took my daughter two years ago when she was 11 and saw the show, did the photo shoot, and had tea. All were well worth the money (not inexpensive as you know). It was a memorable day for my daughter and despite a bit of AG overload, I had a great time too.
I agree with emd's assessment of the show. My child made immediate friends with a couple of seatmates and they chatted on & on about their favorite dolls, books, etc.

I took my 6 year old for the entire experience (lunch/show/picture). She was dressed like her doll. That was 3 years ago and she still talks about it. We are planning a trip to see the NY store! I think it is best for girls that already know lots about the dolls.
