I didn't think the nerds were annoying at all. I thought they seemed pretty real.

I like the hippies the best, so far. They have an offbeat kind of charm and seem to appreciate the adventure they are on.

The Frosties/Glamazons have got to go. Their screeching at every little thing is completely annoying.

The dentist is just too hyper/aggressive. He seems to be wound just a little too tightly.

I know a lot of people like the nerds. For that matter, 30 years ago I was pretty close to the way they are.

At this point, they are my favorites, though I don't dislike any team. Baring s run of luck, I expect the seniors and the Frosties to be among the next 3 teams eliminated.

Any predictions on the next destination?

I think the hippies are going to impress us - many languages between the two of them and already seem to get-on well with the locals having learned a few phrases of Portuguese before their plane landed. Besides they are extremely well-traveled.

Looks like it's going to be the "Hey Baby" Boys vs. the Hippies.

Oh my gosh... the Frosties have GOT to go! The screaming, the utter ignorance was seriously unbearable! The next elimination should have them out.

It seems like the glamazons are not at all suited to this game. With so many people interested in being on TAR, why would they put on those crazy screaming sisters?

Why would nayone think they could put together a motorcycle if they hadn't done anything like that before? The rotor challenge was super easy in comparison.

I posted briefly after the show ended last night, worked all day today and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed coming home and reading all of your takes on the characters. I also was comparing the Glamazons to the Goodlookskis. Yikes, way too much screaming. I like the hippies as well and the "nerds". At first I thought they were a little nauseating, but they kind of grew on me as I think they are genuine. I think the show was well done although a bit long. They producers managed to let the viewers get a pretty good glimpse as to the personalities, so they did something right. I always find it interesting to see how the people who post about this shows opinions change about the characters as the series progresses. Alothough this really no longer fits the criteria of a US thread, do you fans still plan on keeping it going here?

In the past, after each episode airs, someone would start a thread with the date of that show, so we could vent, complain, praise accordingly.

I'm expecting that to happen this race - probably in the Europe area.

I like the hippies too. The nerds are pretty cool, but their lovey-doveyness is going to get on my nerves pretty quickly if they don't knock it off. I think they are genuine though - probably just so happy to have someone to kiss that they feel the need to kiss a lot, you know, making up for lost time and all of that If I remember that, then it isn't as bad.

I think the glamazons would be ok if they would just stop screeching.

With the double d's, I thought it was hilarious that they chose the motorcycles thinking that they would get some random guy to do it for them.

Yolanda totally impressed me putting together that bike - I think she has done that before.

Because of how they look everybody is calling them hippies. Boy did that make me laugh. Did you read their bios?

They are no more hippies than I am. Actually I am more a hippie than they are. They are silver spoon boys with immense perks in their pasts who have decided not to enter the coporate world. Their style and fun attitude are hippish, but they are certainly not hippies.

All the hippies I knew and know are poor, and live very simplistic lifestyles. They do not attend college semesters in three countries, go to Harvard without working, or do semesters on ocean liners. All this without jobs, and being financed by "move film director" and "online tutoring"- I think not.

Not putting them down, but these guys are non-competitive "hippies" and entering a highly competitive race for fun? Where's the "go slow" man!

All the hippies in my life came to my house because I was the one with money for food. LOL!

I like them and they are going to be good players, but what they really are is closer to marketing genius than to hippie.

JJ5, you nailed the "hippies". That's exactly what I thought. They're marketing geniuses! And I agree that they're going to be very strong players, plus they seem like nice guys.

I keep thinking of them as a pair of radio DJs. Constantly performing.

JJ I agree with your assessment of the hippies. They seem more like rich beach bum (trust fund) types to me. I agree they are good players and I enjoyed watching them. But your right marketing is their key.

I found that very amusing that the pink girls thought that they could get someone else to put the MC together for them.

Also I don't think the older couple is long for the game. How many times can you walk past a clue box on a bridge and not see it?

This season is soooo much better than the last aready.

I thought the "hippie" with the dark hair looked a lot like Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes.

Interesting takes on the game folks.

I'm sure that the affecton of the Nerds will cool with the rigors of travel...it wouldn't surprise me if they are calling each other names if they last a few episodes.

I had hope for the older couple but the missing of the clue on the bridge and the decision to assemble the motorcycle made me lose faith in them.

Yup, finally AR is back on track...no families, and no Rob & Amber or other "reality celebs". Just regular (except in Chicago I guess) folks.

The Hippies would appear to me to be the strongest team but there's always the "taxi factor" or the "outboard motor factor" that can claim even the best of racers.

Glad to see the show getting back to basics and I think the teams, love'em or hate'em, will be very amusing to watch.

I was thinking about the motorcycle assembly versus helicopter ride detour - I can't imagine why anyone would pass on the chance to fly over Sao Paulo in a helicopter. I mean, you can stay home and put an old motorcycle together - pick up an Auto Shopper and find one to buy. But how many opportunities do you get to fly over Sao Paulo in a helicopter, or any city for that matter?
