Aloha from South Luangwa
Aloha! Having a great time! The river is full but dropping rapidly. Saw a lion hunt and kill and fight over the body, lions mating, saw two leopards, 12 lions, 100's of elephants and zebras, about a dozen giraffes, 3 kinds of mongoose and so many beautiful birds...no dogs yet, but still have 6 more game drives. The weather is HOT-and only 1 rain storm. Tafika was amazing ( you'll love it), Puku Ridge was outstanding and of course Luangwa River Lodge is as great as usual. A few hair raising adventures...attacked by African killer bees...boat broke down and had to walk in about 12 inches of mud for a mile...land rover got stuck on a night drive and had to walk to the river in an area we just saw the leopard with only 1 torch! Anyway, I'm going on a game drive and you're not!!!!!!

Hey Dennis,
Glad all is well. Can't wait til you get back to pick your brain, as I'm still thinking of going next year. How hot is hot, BTW?
Sounds like quite an adventure with great stories to be told.
Enjoy the rest of your trip and find those dogs !

Dennis,
What a trooper you are. Yes, you're going on a game drive and I'm...doing laundry. No need to rub it in!!! But I'm happy to hear you're having yet another excellent adventure. You deserve it.
Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Wow - all that in one area? Now I really can't wait! we'll be at Luangwa River Lodge and Puku Ride in late May - just before we meet up with Cooncat at Chiawa (their first camp, our last). Keep those posts coming - you're having some great adventures! Although walking a mile in mud might not exactly qualify as an adventure... Sharon
