I'm able to get Amalfi for $179 (corporate rate) or Hotel 71 for $164 (internet rate), and I've never stayed at either. Does anyone have any strong recommendations either way? We'll be in Chicago for one night only.

I don't know the Amalfi but Hotel 71 is more than adequate. The rooms were pretty large and the location is great for most tourist destinations and the north Loop.

We just booked a night there in August and it included free breakfast too so you might want to check on that. (We booked through expedia for the same rate.)

Thanks! I don't remember free breakfast on the Hotel 71 so maybe I'll check out Expedia. I'm not going until December...hope you'll post a review about Hotel 71 after your trip in August.
