Albuquerque restaurant and hiking recommendations

Putting the finishing touches on a Colorado to New Mexico road trip that includes two nights each in Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque for late March, early April.

I've complied quite a list of restaurants and things to see and do in Taos and Santa Fe, but coming up a bit short for Albuquerque.

We're interested in the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, but I can't tell if its best done from Santa Fe or Albuquerque (?). Would appreciate any suggestions for moderate hikes near Albuquerque, as well as good, casual restaurants.

Just came across your post while searching the forum. Did you ever do your Albuquerque trip? How did it go? Did you come across any restaurants you recommend? We are also interested in some day hikes in the area. You have given me helpful information on New Zealand by the way. Thanks!!

Hi freediver, yes, we went in March. Not sure how helpful this will be, but here's the trip report:
