You can look here: http://www.alaskarivertrips.com/rafting.html I'm not familiar with the Class II bits of the river I guess.
Most float trips around Cooper Landing are intended for fishing on the Kenai River rather than rapids etc. If you enjoy fishing, that experience is fab when the salmon (Kings, Reds, Silvers) are in, or for Rainbows (some enormous) or Dolly Varden when the salmon are not as plentiful.

Thanks, Gardyloo.
I've looked at that outfit (Alaska Wildland Adventures)plus another one called Alaska River Adventures. I was just wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge of trips they've taken out of that area.
I also looked at info for an outfit out of Girwood, but that looks like class iv and v which I don't really want to do that.
Do you know if its and either or thing with these outfitter? By that I mean do they have both raft trips and fishing raft trips? Or do they just do the fishing raft trips when fish are running and skip the sightseeing thing. From the websites it looks like they do both.
We will be fishing on several other days. I just wanted to experience a river float trip for this day.
Anyone else have any experience with these rafting trips?
Thanks.

Don't know - probably both at the same times. Give them a call or email. We're not whitewater types so maybe others can be more helpful; I know there are rafting outfits around Eagle River that offer trips, however I'd imagine those are on bigger water than class I or II.

I took a great float trip with Alaska River Company in August 2001. It was really a fishing float trip, but the scenery was magnificent. No large rapids whatsoever. We stayed overnight at one of their cabins. Caught about 50 rainbow trout, no exaggeration.

The scenery around Cooper Landing is nice but not anything great.
We didn't float the river but did fish standing in the river and saw several rafts go by. I think it is pretty much a fishing trip but would be relaxing if you don't fish.
