Airport Nearest Ashville, NC?

I need to book a flight for someone travelling on business to Asheville, NC and I am having trouble finding a nearby airport. They will be flying out of Philadelphia.

Asheville, NC has an airport. USAirways fly there non-stop from PHL using regional jets. Airport code is AVL.

Asheville.

Other options that would require a drive could be Atlanta, GA (2 hours), Greenville, SC (about an hour) and Charlotte, NC.

Asheville- AVL
Greenville/Spartanburg (SC) GSP- 1 hr 15 min
Tri Cities TN - 1 20 min
Charlotte - 2 hrs
Atlanta - NOT 2 hrs - more like 3.5 hrs

leahinsc is so RIGHT!

Asheville is 4 hours from Atlanta. (It's less than 2 hours from me in the mountains. I was brain-dead - and tired. Should NOT have been typing at that time! Sorry!)

Thanks guys! For some reason I couldn't find the code for the Asheville airport when I was searching for it. I can always count on Fodor's people!

It might be cheaper and easier to find a flight to Charlotte. It is a major airport which makes the fare cheaper and a lot of flights fly into there. It is a international airport, while the airport in Asheville is a regional airport that they fly small planes into.
