Check out the Hampton Inn Oceanfront or the Sea Island Inn for Myrtle Beach....just outside of Charleston is a great place to stay near the shrimp boats, ShemCreekInn.com

By the way, down at Hilton Head Island, the Fairfield Inn has a great E-breaks rate of $47 this coming weekend.

In Myrtle Beach, try some of the rooms at Forest Dunes. www.forestdunes.com
In Charleston, we've stayed at the Springhill Suites Riverview and they were very nice.

You can stay on the beach at MB for under $100. I also would vote for the Sea Island but uderstand that the Ocean Reef may be nicer.

Check with Litchfield By The Sea or Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort.

I just reviewed prices at hotel.com for the Charleston area as I need a hotel for two nights end of October. One of the best rates was at Mainstay Suites on rte 17 off I-26, and located just across the Cooper Bridge. $89.00 but being a sewnior got it for $80.15. The hotel opened in 1999. Looks good at its website.
