Accomodation in San Diego

Hi there!

My husband & I will be in San Deigo in February next year. Unfortunatly our accomodation with friends has fallen through. We will be in San Diego for 11 days & would like any help with hotels (or other accomodation)that anyone can recommend to us. 1 bedroom apartments or condos may be an idea for us too.
Also, if it is possible, we would like to be close to our friends. All I know is that they live near Qualcomm Stadium, if that is any help?!
Thanks in advance!!

There are no short term/vacation rentals in the Mission Valley area, they are all in the beach areas. The closest hotels are the Marriott, the Doubletree in Hazard Center, and the Hilton, followed by all the hotels in Hotel Circle.

I'd suggest Priceline or Expedia. You can go to http://www.betterbidding.com to read about some good deals I have gotten lately.

I should say I have gotten some good deals in San Diego lately, but other people on the board have also gotten some good deals.

Barbara was right about the rentals in the beach area, but the beaches aren't that far away from the Qualcomm. They would probably be pretty inexpensive in Feb too. Just dress warm San Diego can get a little chilly that month.

For 11 days, I would chose someplace pleasant rather than trying to be near Qualcomm. We found driving around San Diego surprisingly fast and easy. Especially if your friends will be at work during the day - find someplace better than Stadium area.

i agree with gail. pick somewhere pleasant and don't worry so much about being near qualcomm. how much do you want to pay per night? prices vary a lot in san diego. there is a place across from balboa park that is a b & b. it's been mentioned here before but i don't remember the name. their rooms sound quite nice with sitting areas, patios, etc. that is quite close to qualcomm. maybe someone else will recall the name. if it's in the price range, consider renting a place on mission beach or on mission bay. they have small one bedroom apartments/homes.
