redbirdkg, It would help to keep things together if you had REPLYED to your other post:

I don't think you understand how congested the roads are in this part of the country. You are going to be spending HOURS of every day getting to/from NYC, or Phila. from Atlantic City. I'm not sure what to suggest, it depends on your main focus for this trip.

THe trip to NYC from AC on the bus is about 3 hours and more if the traffic is bad. That's each way.
Philly is probably an hour and a half at least.
If you want to visit Philly or NYC, get a hotel there, so you won't be spending all of your time commuting.

Don't quite understand why you didn't book a hotel in NYC or Philadelphia and then just day trip to Atlantic City...but obviously, room is paid for and you will be in New Jersey.
Philadelphia is by far a shorter/faster commute if you are wanting to spend time in a big city versus all your time at the casinos.
If you are bringing a car (or considering renting a car), why not explore some of the other beach towns along the Jersey Shore? Yes, Atlantic City has a free beach and a big boardwalk - but I'd never actually recommend going there.
Manasquan/Point Pleasant, Margate, Spring Lake, Long Beach Island, Cape May - just a few nice Shore towns to spend a day at the beach, shop, eat, walk around, play golf, tour a lighthouse, etc.

A similar question comes up a lot here on Fodors.
"Should I stay in NJ when I visit NYC?"
The consensus is definitely NO, do not stay in NJ. That answer applies to the part of NJ just across the Hudson river - no more than 2-3 miles as the crow flies. Atlantic City is another 120+ miles away on one of the most congestion prone highways anywhere.
