A desert in bloom...

This past March (2008) we left the Ohio snow for a trip to southern California...the highlight, millions of beautiful wildflowers in full bloom! Our stops included: San Juan Capistrano Mission, Joshua Tree National Park, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, and La Jolla and Cabrillo National Monument. The scenery was spectacular and we have many great photos posted on our travel journal. Feel free to check it out at www.nbhtravel.com Thanks and enjoy!

Thanks for taking me back to Capistrano! Haven't been there for years and your beautiful pictures brought back great memories of our visit there.

Also the lighthouse. We love visiting lighthouses and have an album devoted exclusively to those we've seen and/or toured. We have a similar photo of the spiral staircase.

Took a peek at Budapest and again enjoyed seeing things we enjoyed when we were there.

Your pictures are fabulous. Thanks again.

Hi again,

I do believe your photos just keep getting better and better and I didn't think that was possible.

Loved the wildflowers. When Tom retires next January one of the things we're looking forward to is being able to just take off and go if we hear the desert bloom is going to be awesome, as it has been for the last couple of years.

Also really enjoyed your Costa Rica shots and reports. We were there for 2 weeks last May and are probably going back again in March or April of 2009. You saw much more of Arenal than we did. Hoping for better luck next time.

Keep hiking and reporting. I check your site every so often just to see what you have been up to. Still regret not being able to catch up with you at Arches. Maybe one day, somewhere.

Unfortunately, the posted photos are more than two weeks old. More flowers are in bloom.

Great pictures, velodurt. Thanks for sharing them. I haven't been down there in quite a while, and never in the springtime. Wonderful!
