Halibut Cove or Seldovia ?

Have 1 extra day to spend in Homer before leaving late day Would like to cross the water and see either town and maybe 1 hr hike. Can you share what to expect in visiting either Halibut Cove or Seldovia. Thanks

We've only been to Seldovia. It's a very tiny town with restricted areas for hiking. Due to the length of the boat ride, you might be best to take a picnic lunch so you can do the hike instead of spending time in the restaurant. I think we went over on the Danny C which was also a nature cruise (mostly birds not as exciting as the one out of Seward). We enjoyed what is left of the boardwalk and watching eagles by the tidal river. I think you can see the hiking map on the internet. If your budget allows you might be able to take a short flightseeing trip over a glacier from Seldovia back to Homer. It was part of a hotel package we booked.
