7 Day itinerary help for Badlands and Black Hills

Flying into Denver Wed. May 27 early afternoon husband, self and 10 yr old grandson. Plan to drive to Wounded Knee Massacre Site for short stop then on to Badlands National Park. Have reservation at Cedar Pass Lodge for first night. Spend Day 2 in the park then drive to Wall for the night. Day 3 at Minute Man Missle Site (will make reservations in advance), see Wall Drug, see movie site for Dances With Wolves, and drive to Keystone to see Mt Rushmore at night. Spend 2 nights in Keystone. Day 4 Mt Rushmore in morning, Crazy Horse Memorial, Jewel Cave, drive Needles highway. We will keep the evening open to do some fun things with grandson such as
gold mining, souvenirs, etc.
day 5 drive to Custer State Park spend day and night. Day 6 drive to Deadwood see town, cemetery, shootout and Devil’s Tower. Spend the night. Day 7 drive to Fort Laramie, see sites there and spend the night at Cheyenne. Day 8 drive to Denver for flight home.

is this too ambitious? The drive times appear ok on the map but from previous trips out west I know that’s not always the case. Grandson is interested in hiking, history and wildlife.
Should we cut one night in Keystone for another day at Custer State Park? Trying to not back track but not sure I’ve got that part right? Will make hotel reservations once I get itinerary firmed up.
