If you want to go to the beach, I suggest that you go to Sunset Beach at the southern end of Treasure Island. It's a great beach and you can eat at Caddy's which is on the beach. From USF it will take you 50 minutes to get there. They have lounge chairs outside where you can sit and enjoy the beach, eat, whatever. But if you don't have a car then you'll be paying $30 each way minimum to get there and back.
Yes, I'd recommend Busch Gardens for five hours, if you don't mind paying $50 (or whatever it is now) and only getting five hours to enjoy it. Busch Gardens is very close to USF, and there are lots of enjoyable shows there now (indoors).

How about the Lowry Park Zoo? It's a great little zoo, and nearby, within 15 minutes of USF Tampa campus. I'd say you don't have enough time to get to the beach and back, and I don't think you'll get your money's worth at Busch in such a short time.

ou won't be sorry with Busch Gardens - better than any of the Disney parks. Also, there's a place Tarpon Springs (off Highway 19) is a great place to visit - it's greek and there are some nice fish restaurants. At the back is the town full of little antique stores, worth the trip.

Take a cab over to Bahama Breeze, about 5-10 minutes from the airport, sit outside, have a few drinks, a bite to eat, take in the view, soak up the sun and then head back to the airport.
Or take a cab over to Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, about 5-10 minutes the other direction, and have a good lunch at a very good and very old Spanish restaurant.
