4 hours in Honolulu airport
Hello! On my way to Maui in April, I've got a 4-hour layover in the Honolulu airport. No car (if that isn't obvious!)
Is there time to do anything other than explore the airport gift shops, and if so - what?
Thanks!

Check this post (below)from flyertalk.com it's dated, but the info has numerous suggestions. Do be aware of going back through security if you leave the secured areas as this will reduce your available time for other things.

The HNL airport has a unique feature in that the walkways connecting the concourses to the terminal have elevated outdoor (covered) walkways. If you go downstairs, there is a beautiful tropical garden. This is a great place to go, sit outside and absorb the sunshine and fragrant flowers (great for adjusting those circadian rhythms and recovering from jetlag.) AND it is all on the secure side of security!

There was a cute bar/restaurant that my Hubby and I spent some time in. We ordered a few extra large beers and watched footage from our vacation. It was fun and a great way to pass the time! But, if there is any way you can get their earlier, take a cab and check out Pearl Harbor.

It's a little too tight to go anywhere imo. If you had 6 hours, sure take a taxi into Waikiki and back. If you had only 3 hours, definitely don't leave the airport.
4 hours is tempting, but not do-able imo.
I like the idea of trying to ge on an earlier light to Maui.
