I prefer Healdsburg so as to explore the Alexander Valley and Russian River wineries..but I like Zins and Pinot Noir. That being said, check out Camellia Inn in Healdsburg. It is a small b&b about three walking blocks from the square. One of the owners is a wine maker and can give you tips on where to go and what to taste. He also does a tasting of his own wines. We happen to also really like Ravenous as a place to eat. It's in a house in downtown Healdsburg, lots of locals, good food and great atmosphere. We have also had some good food at Sante in Geyserville. For really great Mexican food try the restaurant across the street from Oakville Grocery. It is really local. Other folks will post probably about places they like..I haven't eaten at Zin or Bistrot Ralph but people seem to like both places . I have heard very mixed reviews of Dry Creek Kitchen.

What is a ball park figure for your hotel stay? There are so many choices it is hard to say with so little info. What kind of food do you prefer? ther are so many types of places in every range, I think answering may be difficult for most of us. We are surely spoiled by Sonoma!
