3 days in Nashville

Spending 3 days in Nashville first wkend in June.
Staying at Placemakr Premier Sobro on Lower Broadway. Have found much info on other posts..Ryman, Union Station, Bluebird Cafe etc. Looking for suggestions on must sees for only a 3 day visit…like country and classic rock. Would a trip to Franklin take too much time due to a rather short stay. Thanks!

A poster on a defunct travel forum posted this:The "cool" neighborhoods include East Nashville (restored houses), which is actually N of the downtown, Germantown which is NW of downtown, Waverly (the Bluebird is nearby), Hillsboro, and Belmont, which are more or less W of Vanderbilt University. Sylvan Park is on the other side of Vanderbilt near Centennial Park.

There also are interesting parts of downtown--near the river and along the Cumberland River. Most of these areas are primarily residential, although you'll find a few bars and restaurants in all of them.

Downtown has a number of bars near the Ryman Auditorium (original Grand Old Opry)…The current Opry has a Hall of Fame and performances. There are a few venues like the Bluebird and places downtown, but basically you need to go further afield to hear a lot of country music."

"Franklin has a beautiful 16-block historic district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized nationally as a Great American Main Street. Centered by the town square and surrounded by lovely Victorian architecture, this vibrant Main Street offers more than history. Enjoy unique shops, restaurants, antiques stores, entertainment, the arts and more. Franklin’s attractions include Carnton Plantation, Carter House and Lotz House." (visitfranklin.com)

Unless things have changed, every bar downtown will have a band doing live classic rock covers. Very little country music, if any. It’s a great geographic setup though for tourists, Austin has nothing like it.

Welcome, Beatle. I spent a Thanksgiving weekend in Nashville and enjoyed it immensely. My goals were to see an artwork and surprise family, but was able to see a lot. Here's my TR for ideas:

Great info thanks! Flight doesn’t arrive until 11:30pm, hopefully no issues getting taxi/Uber to hotel.
Considering a walking tour or hop on-hop off trolley…any thoughts on these?
