Nashville or Nashville and New Orleans
Hi. My wife and I (late 50's) are planning a trip to Nashville. Possibly Nashville and New Orleans. Ideally we would visit both; fly into NO, drive to Nashville and then fly back to Boston. We will be coming in the beginning of November. We only have from Sat. Nov 4th through Thursday, Nov. 9th at the most. We have to be back to Boston no later than the 9th. My original plan was to fly into NO, stay 2 nights, drive to Nashville and stay 3 nights. However, on second thought we are thinking rather than cut it close and rush we may be better off just going to Nashville for 4 nights and plan another trip someday to NO. Is 4 nights in Nashville too little or too much or just right? Would appreciate your thoughts. Also, I saw that the CMA was on Nov. 8th. Should we stay away from Nashville during this time? Unfortunately that time frame is our only window of opportunity. So, in short:
1. should we try and go to both NO and Nashville or just Nashville?
2. should we reconsider altogether because our time frame conflicts with the CMA on Nov. 8th?
3. if we do go, where do you recommend that we stay? My preference would be a resort that is close to the restaurants and music scene. Walkable preferably. An outdoor pool would be a plus if the weather cooperated.
4. How many nights would you recommend?
Thanks.

Like Abram, I'd suggest splitting the trip between Nashville and Memphis, rather than Nashville and NOLA. Nashville to NOLA is a pretty long drive.
But Nashville and Memphis will give you a taste of two totally different styles of city and of music.

Hi Thank you all very much. Since we only have 4 nights we and considering the flights we are thinking to stay just in Nashville during this trip. Are we crazy to go there while they are hosting the Nov 8th CMA?
Also, any recommendations on where to stay? Our preference would be within walking distance to Music Street since we heard that is where we will most likely like to spend our time. Also, our preference is a nice clean quaint hotel. Thanks again, W
