Spent three days in Osage Beach in mid June with my three kids ( ages 7,12,13) my best friend and her daughter ( age 10). We stayed at Sunset Beach Resort in Osage Beach which was actually very fun. It's an older "resort" but has been taken care of and is nice and clean. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 1 bath, that had a deck looking over the lake and a small kitchen and living area so we could let the kids rest and we fixed some meals there as well. The resort itself had an outdoor pool which we used a lot and also a small swim beach with sand which we used a lot.

One day we spent an entire day in Lake of the Ozarks State Park which is just maybe 10 minutes from the resort. A very nice playground- several actually and a great place to swim for the kids. It was quiet the day we were there with just a few other families. We brought picnic supplies and let the kids swim and play all morning, then we ate lunch then they swam some more. That evening we went back to the resort to change and rest, then went shopping at the outlet mall in Osage Beach which has a ton of stores and ate hamburgers and custard at Culvers.

Another day we went to Ha Ha Tonka state park which is close by and we hiked, saw the castle ruins, stopped at the visitors center there, and again had a picnic. There was a fun little hike to a natural bridge which the kids played at forever that day. That evening we went back to the resort and swam and grilled there on the deck.

It was a nice trip- we were about 5 hours from Osage Beach but had never been. It had plenty of restaurants, places to buy groceries and things to do. We would certainly enjoy coming back.
