Glad you had a good time. Since you know the Stanhope is expensive then why would you think restauants nearby would not be. Just curious...Live and learn. That is how you grow as a traveler.

x, I really didn't care about the cost of the dinner. Sorry if you got that impression, but if you reread my first post, you'll see that I was just stating where we ate and what it cost. I won't make that mistake again (of reporting).

I know, and I did read your post. You implied that I thought the restaurants near the Stanhope wouldn't be expensive, which was not the case. I in fact think most restaurants in NYC are expensive, and we paid more or less what we expected to for a moderately priced nice restaurant on the Upper East side.
