The sagamore on bolton landing is the only resort hotel in lake george and it is excellent. What are you looking for? everything else is motels. This place has beach, indoor pool and great spa, amazing gym. a few restaurants a lounge, a raquetball court, indoor tennis court and a gameroom. I would definitely recommend it. The arcades in town are a lot of fun as well.

the first thing to do after spending two days in the lake is to dry off!

We stay at the Sagamore and it is wonderful. There are small hotel/motels along the lake in Boltons Landing also. But nothing to compare with the Sagamore.they have a website.

I would also agree with Cherie and Kate that the Sagamore is the place to stay. We have stayed in the hotel and the lodge. The hotel is great for romantic vacations, especially the one-bedroom parlor suites with lakeview. My husband and I spent a luxurious weekend in one this spring. If you are traveling with family, the lodge might be a better choice. If you choose lodge accommodations, you will have to walk to the hotel for meals, the indoor pool, and fitness center.

If you are there on a Sunday, don't miss the Sunday brunch. High tea is also served every afternoon about 3 PM. For a special romantic dinner, try the Trillium room. The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. If you have small children, the concierge will arrange for a sitter so you can relax and enjoy your evening.

The grounds are beautiful. On weekends, you may even see couples exchanging wedding vows at lakeside.

Ditto everything that was said about Sagamore. There may be a couple of dude ranches around, but basically LAke George is Honkey Tonk Land.
