There is shopping and strolling along Michigan Ave. The Art Institute on south Michigan Ave Cubs or White Sox games. great restaurants near Michigan Ave, and near north side. a trip to the top of the Hancock Building or Sears Tower. Plenty of bars, plays and clubs (Second cIty is fun and many jazz and blues clubs. You can even go to the beach. Navy Pier would not be my firsat choice.

thanks these ideas sound great! lot of these are things we would like--architecture tour, second city club, bands--we like history, engineering things too (like a good bridge...). I know about the art institute. are there small museums that we shoud try to see? also, we are bringing our dog. is there a running path that we could take her on?
