Frances, I was just about to give you a smart ass answer about Hawaii actually being a state (some Americans who post on here don't seem to realize that), but then luckily I noticed from your email address that you're from the UK! Whew, would have had a red face there! Anyway, the legal drinking age in all 50 states is 21. I'm not sure about restaurants, so hopefully someone else can answer that for you.

Can anyone recommend what to do New Years Eve in Waikiki?We are a family of Mum and Dad and two daughters aged 18 and 14.
In the past we have spent the New Year in India with parties and dancing on the beach and all children are welcomed.
However we spent one New Year on the Keys and could not find anything going on.Is this what its like all over the States?
