Lunch in Philly

We are going to Philadelphia next month and are looking for a nice place to have lunch on the Friday we arrive. We are staying in the Society Hill area at the Sheraton. Interested in any place that has great food plain or fancy. Thanks.

Two ends of the spectrum: Reading Market's Amish restaurant or Fork.

Solve the great cheesesteak debate by yourself by indulging in one each at Gino's and Pat's, ominously opposite eachother off Passayunk in South Philly. Seriously worth the trip.

Not to change the subject, but any particular reason you've picked the Sheraton in Society Hill? Based on my experience with this hotel, move to the Sheraton on Rittenhouse Square, then go to nearby Brasserie Perrier on Walnut for lunch . . . or better yet, Susanna Foo on Walnut, or even Alma de Cuba on Walnut. Can you tell Walnut St. is our restaurant row? ;-) Happy trails!

Brent: The Sheraton Society Hill is not one of my favorites but if you got a really good rate, go for it. One recommendation, ask for a room with an exterior view, the atrium view rooms are dark and over look a dreary 1980's lobby. The location is good and central to most of the tourist attractions.

The Sofitel has been advertising very good rates, you may want to check it out. A much nicer hotel and close to Rittenhouse Square.
