10 days in Az..what should we see

My husband and I will be arriving in Phoenix in November to spend 10 days touring Arizona. What are some places & sights we should not miss. Hotel & restaurant suggestions would also be helpful. We both enjoy exploring (by car...neither of us are into hiking) Heard there is a one day train from Sedona to Grand Canyon. Has anyone taken this train trip?

Definitely Sedona. But I believe the train you are talking about is from Williams, and not Sedona. I think it's an hour away from Sedona. I have not taken it, but if you do a search, you will find mixed reviews from posters.

x listed all the good places in Arizona. You might consider Bryce and Zion in southern Utah.

If you just type in Arizona on the search section of this forum you will see tons of advice on what to do, what to see, where to eat etc. This information will give you a general idea of all the previous discussions and information on your request.

There is no train from Sedona to the Grand Canyon. There are two different trains that you might want to consider.
The Grand Canyon Railroad goes from Williams to the Canyon. It is basically a different way to get to the Canyon.

The other train goes through the Verde Canyon area. it is a scenic journey through the area.

Both of these trains are discussed in depth on this forum in previous posts.

sedona is lovely. my two cents, since you don't like to hike, arizona wouldn't be my first choice unless you are planning on golfing and just laying by a pool. most of the really nice places to see involves hiking.

The senora dessert museum is great. It's a little bit of a drive (nearer to tucson) but worth it. In Sedona, check out the Pink Jeep Tours. An overnight at the Grand Canyon would be nice. You don't have to hike to enjoy the beauty.

In 10 days you do the following in this order without pushing: South RIm, GRand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Bryce, Zion, SEdona. Sedona can be done at the beginning but doing it at the end beaks up the long drive back to PHX.

Rose: Why would you plan a 10 day trip without knowing what to do or see?

Don't miss Sedona and do take a Pink Jeep Tour. Drive to Grand Canyon and
try to get rooms at Bright Angel Lodge
(it's right on the rim).

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson is a don't miss attraction. It is very well done. They have a great web site you might want to check out. Unfortunately I don't know their web address.

As to Payson, I don't know when the Tonto Natural Bridge will be open. I believe that it is still closed due to budget cuts. Even if it was open I would skip it if I didn't want to hike.

As you can tell by the answers you've gotten, their is a on of stuff to do and see in Arizona. You need to decide what your interests are and plan accordingly.
