We are going to Mazatlan right after Christmas and have never been there before, what type of clothes should we pack?

Very casual, shorts, teeshirts, bathing suit of course, flipflops. Capris perhaps. If you are planning to go to nice restaurants you would probably want a nice sundress or two (assuming you are female) and cute pair of sandals. Might want to take a wrap of some kind just in case the airconditioning in restaurant makes it chilly. And a beach cover up for getting from room to pool or beach.

Same for men. Just a casual pair of pants and shirt are fine for restaurants.

Mazatlan IMO is wonderful. Do eat their shrimp it is fantastic. And Pacifico Beer is from there so you will probably want to try that.
