Wedding in Africa or Antarctica?

Hi, my fiance and I are now on the fence and wanted to get your opinions:

QUESTION: If you had to do the ultimate wedding trip with the family, would you go to Africa (if so, South or East) or go to Antarctica?

We have not been to either, so we're trying to gather as much information before we commit to one place or the other and splurge. Also, any referrals to a person who can help arrange something more on the luxury high-end side as well as recommended itineraries, would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know about a wedding in Antarctica - but I recently read that one couple tied the knot at a quaint little church in the Falklands when their expedition ship visited Stanley.

Personally, I think I would choose Africa - specifically one of the luxury tented camps in the Okavango Delta - either sunrise or sunset ... beautiful scenery and the peace and solitude is incredible.

Hi

I'm not sure I see the great thing about getting married in Antarctica. Is there any facilities there at all apart from a few science stations? I would recommend that you go for a luxury safari in South Africa instead after you get married

Regards

For sure Africa.

We just got back from our honeymoon in Southern Africa and it was wonderful.

You can read my trip report over on the Africa and Middle East forum.
