Trip ideas with a 7 year old

I'm just looking at basic holiday ideas for my daughter's half term holiday in May, she says she'd like to go somewhere warm where the sea/ocean is also warm

So far i've been looking at destinations including Sri Lanka and Dubai but am unfamiliar with the best places for a 7 year old that will also meet the things she would like

Then again she would also like to visit Disneyland with Hong Kong and Tokyo being the preferences, would either of them meet any of her other criteria?

We'd be going at the end of May flying from the UK, max budget around £1000pp for a week

Yes including airfare, £1000pp would be budget for hotel and airfare but not other incidentals as such
Have looked at Thailand as another alternative, but having never been am unsure about where would be best to go with a child

From what i've found so far the airfare varies by destination but well within my budget, even with hotels it still comes well within the proposed budget.

What I was looking for was tips and suggestions on which locations are best suited to a 7 year old based on what she would like from a holiday

If you think your budget is adequate for Asia, suggest you repost this on the Asia board, where it will find a lot more readers.

What about Iceland? Elves, a landscape that looks like the moon, Blue Lagoon (and tons of other natural springs), storybook houses, whale watching, lots of shopping, super safe, and a short trip from the UK. What more could a 7 year old want? Seriously, Iceland is wonderful and you won't have to contend with jet lag during your vacation. It's very safe and there are all sorts of day and half day trips out of Reykjavik.

Sorry, I see you wanted a warm ocean- natural hot springs! Geysers! Can you tell I enjoy Iceland? Hope your planning goes well.
