Only 1 day and half in Buenos Aires Argentina
I am going to Buenos Aires, Argentina in a couple of weeks. I will only be there on Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday. I will be staying at the Claridge Hotel downtown, and I will be looking for exciting things to do. Do you have any suggestions?
First trip to Argentina!!

janisj,
Sadly, the "enhancements" have killed a bunch of localized forums.
CFBaker, Now's the time to start looking for tours, milongas, and that "special" meal for Saturday night.
Try www.google.com.ar for more hits.

Hun? What do you mean? Click on "Change Forum" above. All the same old boards are there.
This thread belongs on the one for Latin America if you want more people to see it . . .

Janisj,
One thing I've noticed is 1)either the forum website is not nearly as friendly and people just give up, or 2) a whole bunch of folks all went on holiday at the same time.
I think they're getting better, but not they're really not there yet.

If you look in at the main forums (Europe, United States, Asia, Latin America, Lounge, etc.) - you will find they are still here. Those forums seem to be just as active as ever. This forum (Smart Travel Tips) gets a tiny fraction of the traffic of those boards -- just like it always has,

Janisj,
"but not they're really not there yet"
refers to Fodor's enhancements. I've noticed the links being cleaner (crisper) in the last week, mainly because they were initially very poorly done.
I think that they are working to make the intended enhancements actually do what they thought they should do, "but not they're really not there yet"

suze: Maybe so - but there are 41 active threads over there dated Feb 25 vs. 8 threads on this forum. Everything is relative of course. Latin American is not nearly as active as Europe, but it is much MUCH busier than Smart Travel Tips.
My main points were 1) Latin America is much more active, 2) this question is about Argentina - not "general travel tips", and 3) if the OP wants folks that know about BA/Latin America, this should be posted over there.
Just trying to help the OP get better use out of the forums. If it was me and something isn't working, I'd personally want to know why . . . . . .

I think the best museum in town is the Museum of Decorative Arts on Libertador. It's in a beautiful mansion close to Recoleta cemetery. On your way back you can walk through the market and the cemetery. That night, check out tango dancing at a milonga like Cafeteria Ideal. On Sunday, you could go to the market in Dorego Square in San Telmo. That would be my advice.
